“Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

VISION

Our vision is to be a church family engaged in God’s kingdom work of making disciples of all nations.

MISSION

Our mission is to build a global movement of disciple-makers, starting from Calvary Baptist Church and reaching out to every corner of the world.

Our Strategy: The Disciple’s path

Our strategy is to engage each member of our church family on The Disciple’s Path, where they can learn to make disciples by leading others to know Christ, building community, and living as Christ’s ambassadors, sent into the world with the gospel.

Knowing Christ through worship gatherings and Bible studies.

Building Community
through discipleship groups, prayer, and fellowship.

Living Sent
through serving the community and mission teams.

Our Core Values: Calvary Cares

We care about God and the gospel

We believe that the sole purpose of life is to worship God and live for His glory. We believe that God created humankind to live in an eternal relationship and fellowship with Him, but that sin separates us from God. We believe that Jesus, who is God in the human form, came to earth to model a relationship with God and to suffer and die for our sins on the cross. We believe that on the third day after His death, He rose from the grave, so that He cannot only forgive our sins, but give us the gift of eternal life. The Bible calls this grace unearned and unmerited favor from God that He is willing to give to all people who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus.

Because we have received God’s grace in our lives, we follow Jesus’ command to love God with all our hearts and to love our neighbors. All of our ministries and activities are designed and planned to demonstrate God’s love to all people. That’s why we say, “Love is spoken here.”

Our life speaks: our attitudes, our actions, our words, our character, everything about us speaks a language. And what we want to make sure of here is that the language of our lives, individually and corporately, is the love of Christ. Love is spoken here:

  • It’s spoken in worship, as we pour out ourselves and our praise to amazing, almighty God.
  • It’s spoken in discipleship, as we love God and His Word enough to read, study, obey, and model it.
  • It’s spoken in ministry, as we put our love into action in practical, humble service to each other.
  • It’s spoken in mission as we reach out in love to a hurting world of broken people who need the redemption of Christ. But they often must see Christ’s love in us before their eyes will be open to the truth of the gospel.

We care about families

We believe that God ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society. It is composed of persons related to one another by marriage, blood, or adoption. We provide a variety of ministries and activities that help families grow together through Christian education, worship, and fun. We have a well-trained and caring staff who will ensure your children and teens are safe and learn how to love Jesus in a creative and interactive environment. We provide ministries and opportunities for adults to grow in their relationships, to become better spouses and parents, and to develop their God-given skills for all aspects of life.

We care about our community

In the spirit of Christ, our church members are at work in our community to provide for the needy, the abused, the aged, the helpless, and the sick. We partner with the Petal School District, the Petal Task Force, Meals on Wheels, the Petal Arts Council, the Petal Chamber of Commerce, and many other community organizations in an effort to demonstrate the Love of Christ to all people living in Petal and the surrounding communities. We partner with the Pine Belt Baptist Association to provide counseling services for those in need of help.
